SHIGMO   Shigmo is one of the biggest festivals that falls either in March or April.The music is typically dhol, taasha and kasale.Two variations of Shigmotsav, namely Dhakto Shigmo and Vadhlo Shigmo, are celebrated for different reasons. Farmers and the rural population celebrate Dhakto Shigmo as a mark of the harvest season's end. NARKASUR After exams , childrens start making narkasur with full excitement. They go for donations, and with that money they buy materials used for making narkasur. The story revolves around some youths who were killed by the villagers as they were mistaken to be robbers (Chors), though no one knows the exact history of this age-old practice. The story goes that in the past, people commuted through the forest for work or to collect produce from nature’s bounty. They travelled from village to village from the foothills, climbing across the Western Ghats. During one such daily routine, youths from a neighbouring village who were suspected to have commited robbery were killed. THE THREE KINGS FEAST The Feast of Three Kings in Goa is celebrated as an ode to the ‘Our Lady of The Mount’, a statue of Virgin Mary with infant Jesus in her hand, considered to be the protector of the people. On this day, the Lady of the Mount is adorned with jewelry and people from all over climb up to her to seek her blessings. The Festival of the Three Kings is celebrated after 12 days of Christmas to commemorate the visit of the three wise men to infant Jesus.
