Goa celebrated Gulal utsav of Shree Damodar at Zambaulim , Quepem, Goa . celebrating the tradition of Gulal utsav during the festival of the Shigmo festival.Temple management committees of both Shree Ramnath Devasthan, Zambaulim, and Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha, Margao, had earlier announced that the ‘gulal’ would be held in a very restricted manner.The temple premises, which otherwise teems with thousands of revellers on this day every year, wore a deserted look, with police though keeping a watchful eye on the situation.In earlier days this festival used to for a week However, in modern times the festival is mainly is a for the citizens .festival still goes on for in Zambaulim .

Gulal is a festival connected with the Shigmo festival of Goa. Visit this place during GULALOTSAV in March. Zambaulim Gulal is famous all over Goa. During Gulal this place become very crowded but it must see festival if you are in Goa during that time. Don't get confuse with the Damodar temple of Fatorda Margao and Damodar Temple Zambaulim. This temple is located in Zambaulim near Quepem on bank of Kushavati river on the Rivona road. To reach the temple go to Tilamol Quepem and then take Rivona Road. This place is just before the Rivona market. Gulal its played by holi colour specially pink Holi colours. Earlier women's were not allowed to celebrate these occasions as there is some myth about it but now some of the girls celebrate . The palkhi is set in the morning in front of the temple and Pooja is done after which traditional dance with skit is done by the people with god's costumes . Some of the schools get holiday
